Amy Miller Burgess thinks this book is Good.
I loved Brooks ever since I read her "Year of Wonders". I was not a fan of "Little Women" which this book uses as a sort of springboard.."March" centers on the absent father from "Little Women" who is Chaplain in the civil war. Most excellent Civil War book since "Red Badge of Courage". Gritty realistic and heartbreaking (whereas Alcott's book was goody goody and polite to the core). Give me "March" ANYDAY.
