What's this all about, anyway?
This page was born in recognition of an addiction that myself and many people I know share - an addiction to reading. Too often have I wanted to suggest a book to a friend, or had a friend tell me about some book that I have to read, and too often have these suggestions not been acted upon and forgotten.
Chain Reading aims to solve that. At Chain Reading you can suggest books to friends (even if they don't have an account) and your suggestions will be added to a list of suggestions. These books can then be moved to various lists, or deleted.
It's not just for suggesting books to friends though. Each user gets three other lists in addition to your list of books others have suggested for you to read. Books you recommend, books you are planning on reading, and books you are currently reading. You can browse books other people have recommended, or search for a book you would like to add.
RSS, Web Services, Etcetera.
Shortly, RSS feeds will be available, and eventaully some sort of soap or RESTful web service as well. This would have been done by now, but I decided to instead do some major overhauling of the code before going any further. That's done now, so progress will be able to continue!
