Danny Dunn and the Homework Machine - Rated Nothing Special
I am so not the target reader for this book.
Blood Rites - Rated Good
Very similar in quality to earlier books in the series. If you like them, you'll like this one.
Million Dollar Baby: A Marjorie McClelland Mystery - Rated Nothing Special
Too arch and self-consciously wacky.
Lethally Blond - Rated Good
Excellent light entertainment.
Over Her Dead Body - Rated Good
There's nothing groundbreaking about Kate White's work, but she is eminently readable and smart. The character of Bailey Weggins is believable, and you'd like to have her as a friend. That's saying something.
I Capture the Castle - Rated Excellent
Wow. There are some books I regret not having read when I was younger so that I could have the joy of reading them again now that I'm older. This is one of those books. It's simply wonderful.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Omnibus Volume 1 - Rated
I thought I would really enjoy this, but I could never get remotely interested. Maybe I'm too old. I sure feel old.
Gregor The Overlander - Rated Excellent
Really charming and quite affecting. I look forward to reading more from Suzanne Collins.
Stormbreaker - Rated Worth Reading
This was a breeze of a read, and I think I'll read the next in the series. Alex Rider is a pretty good character and, though I didn't really find this book particularly satisfying, I think there's potential here.
The Devil's Door: A Catherine LeVendeur Mystery - Rated Excellent
I love Catherine LeVendeur. She is both a product of her time and refreshingly human. These books are never dumbed down or sensational, but are intricate and measured. If you like mysteries, give them a try.
